Jirehs Rising Sun 12.3H Smokey Cream, ½ Welsh 
Add some color to your fields with Jirehs Rising Sun! At just under 13 hands, ‘Shiner’ is the perfect cross for TB, WB and Arabian mares. Barr Silver Star of Texas, Shiner’s sire, is a palomino driving pony, boasting Smoke Tree Silver Dragon and Sleight of Hand in his pedigree. His dam, Jirehs Southern Belle, is a smokey black tobiano hunter pony. With his double dilute color, Jirehs Rising Sun guarantees 100% palomino, buckskin and smokey black foals on non-grey mares. (Grey mares will have colored foals, but there is a chance that the foal will turn grey.)
Rising Sun is now beginning his under-saddle training and is going well at the walk and trot. We will be spending the Winter taking long slow trail rides with friends before beginning more serious training in the Spring.
Its official! Color results are back from UC Davis and Jirehs Rising Sun is a smokey cream. Also, “Shiner” has tested negative for the ‘lethal white’ gene, which means that you may breed your positive mares without the worry of producing a lethal white foal.
UPDATE: Rising Sun was given a short training break in order for me to have my own foal this past December. Hopefully we will be back on track this Fall!
